I was inspired by Gustav Klimt's "The Kiss". His use of gold leaf and patterns is so very beautiful. He had an ugly life to some and yet he was able to create some powerful works of art. He inspired the Art Nouveau style. He became one of the world's greatest decorative artists. He was born just outside Vienna in 1862 and was the oldest of seven children. He used semi-precious stones, gold leaf and enamels in his art. He died in 1918 at age 56. It is said that he had many lovers and fathered at least 14 children.
My "Kiss from Klimt" is made from polymer clay and is sealed and painted using acrylics. Her hair is braided clay. I used fine ribbon and bead spacers to attach her arms and legs. I used crystal beads for buttons on her shoes. She is one of a kind and available to purchase. Feel free to email me if interested in any of my work.

Love your clay creations. That is one medium I have never worked in. Interesting story of Klimt, I've known his work forever but never knew his story. I freaked when I saw you had triplets too! I guess you know first hand why it took a week for me to comment back to you! LOL Wow, you also have a 7 year old, hats off to you. They are darling. We feel so blessed to have 3 perfect children. We have even more in common, my husband is also Irish/Scottish. Must be something in the blood?! Lisa
Hi Lisa! I know what you mean by "blessed"! Our trio was born at 33 weeks and we thank God daily for how healthy they are. They start kindergarten this Fall. What will I do with all the "extra" time I'll have? Maybe our home will finally be clean after almost 8 years! I know I will miss them terribly and probably cry that first week of school. Thank you for your comments about Klimt. I've always been attracted to art nouveau work and had his "The Kiss" in our bathroom for years. Just recently I started reading more about his life. It seems like the melencholy ones do the best work!
How old are your kids?
Rebecca
Hi Rebecca, lovely to see your advatar on my blog. Loved reading about what life you have and what you like. Totally understand why Lisa feels connected to you as I felt the same.
Loved looking at your art dolls and that you like klimt. There are two artists who I thought of while looking at your beautiful creations. Nancye Williams a doll artist and Wendy Ryan an angel artist who has painted many inspired by Kilmt.
Totally enjoyed visiting your blog, thank you!
Hugs!

Rebecca, so suprising too, my hubby is my college sweetheart also. Meeting Mark in 1999. I have 6 children, mostly grown up and living individual lives. Oh how I miss them little.
So lovely to read your loves in your life, thank you for sharing them.
