The Dragon of Cripple Creek

Hello friends. I am so happy to announce that my brother Troy Howell's book The Dragon of Cripple Creek is published and available to purchase!

Of course I am biased, this is my talented and amazing brother. I think his story is wonderful.
Mary Pope Osborne (author of the Magic Tree House series) says, "Troy Howell's heroine, Kat, is as luminous as the gold she hides in her pocket. Readers better hang onto their hats as she tells her funny, sad, lyrical and finally, breathtaking tale. I absolutely love this book."

My brother and Mrs. Osborne have collaborated on a number of books. If she thinks Troy's first novel is good, it isn't just me being biased! It really is good!

The Dragon of Cripple Creek is about a girl named Kat who has a passion for adventure. She has steered her family into the Gold Rush town of Cripple Creek, Colorado. She strays from the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine tour and discovers the last dragon, Ye, living in the depths below surrounded by gold.
The characters are rich and unique. Greed motivates many but, in the end, love and honesty prevails.

Please find this book, buy it, and enjoy the ride. "This humorous and poignant debut novel from illustrator Troy Howell is a heart-stirring adventure about all that glitters versus all that matters. Never before have the American West and ancient dragons been rolled together into one wild, tumbleweed tale."

You can find The Dragon of Cripple Creek at Amazon.com
or at Abrams Books.com
or ask for it at your local bookstore (ISBN 978-0-8109-9713-4)
Visit Books of Wonder in NYC on Saturday March 26 from 12 to 2 and meet Troy Howell author and illustrator extraordinaire and have him sign your copy of The Dragon of Cripple Creek!

This novel is so good; I see it becoming a movie sometime in the near future. You can say, "I read it when it was first published." Or, "I know the author and illustrator's sister!"
